One of our favorite's around here. Super cheap, pretty simple and oh so satisfying!! Not sure about the healthyness! The Shepherds pie above was made without corn, we usually add the corn to it. I know one family that uses creamed corn?! I haven't tried that yet!

Closing in on deadlines....
Our roomate moved out the day before yesterday. We now have the place to ourselves. It's odd. We found out the lady living in the house that we are planning to move into has found a place to live herself. And has, for sure, begun packing. We just still aren't exactly sure when that's going to be. We need to be in before the end of october. In order for our funds to cover everything they need to... very thinly.
I really need her to pick up the pace and get out of that damn house. The power will be shut off here as of November first. Also, as of then, we are being evicted. So we just sit, packing small things slowly, a little at a time, and wait.

Hopefully the 3rd & final prospect.
I resorted to asking another friend about whether or not she could help us find somewhere, it's so far is turning out really well. Her aunt, who lives in California, owns a house here in Collinsville. Right now the aunt's mother, my friends grandma, lives in this house. She's only being charged $100 rent and she doesn't pay and has the water and electric shut off because of lack of payment. So her aunt is willing to let us rent out and possibly rent to own. Plus, Jason gets to do yard work and house work in exchange for rent and such.
Now about the house, it sits behind another house *which i personally enjoy since the road it's on is relatively busy* It's yellow. There's a carport that has steps leading the porch and front door *jason is being asked to rebuild the awning that was damaged by a fallen tree limb. It's 2200 square feet, 2 bedrooms, a fenced in backyard *jason also has to fix a couple links in that* there is a full basement that was finished. The main floor was completely remodeled less than 5 years ago: new carpet, pergo flooring, i'm guessing in the kitchen..., new kitchen countertops, new sinks, stackable washer & dryer, new carpetting, new bathtub and bathroom sink. UGH!!!! i'm sooooo excited.
They want $350 per month and $100 deposit. thats it and we're in.
BBBBBBBBut. we haven't been able to see the inside or really any of it yet. I don't care either way it sounds amazing! but I just want to know what it looks like.
They said it could be, at the longest, 45 days before we get in... but no matter what ITS OURS it's not going anywhere. hopefully its not that long.

found a second possible place...now what?
So a friend recently moved to Shiloh about a month ago, and we asked him if there was any available units in his building. Called his landlord and there is, ground floor, one bedroom, one bathroom, nice backyard to take the dogs to. This one is again in our price range.
We're terrified.
Our options are limited, but moving that far away from where we are now is going to be different for sure. But if we can't find anything else that will allow our dogs....then what do we do when september ends and randy doesn't pay the $250 and we're expected to pay $700 for where we are now... that won't work. And if we don't take this place and that happens we have no where to go.
He refuses to stay with my dad and the dogs can't go to his parents. Our car is only a corsica. It will not be comfortable. and thor's horrible in the car. We have to just take this opportunity for the apartment we've found and hope it works out. We have no other choice.

Update on this. We decided against this apartment. It's just too far from where we want to be, and our friend talked to her aunt and that seemed like a better prospect. plus it was in the Hood!

moving. i need to.
Just a random look on craigslist for a new home (or apartment, or duplex. anything) to rent. I found a house that had a small one bedroom seperate attachment that they were asking a very reasonable price for, and didn't mind the dogs with a deposit. There was a huge backyard. It really would have been so much easier than what we're dealing with now. We had the finances and basically had everything figured out. THEN the guys' delinquent stepson, who is expected a child soon, was evicted from his place, and his wife talked him into putting the stepson and his girlfriend there. He talked to Jason for some time on the phone and told him 'he knows he's losing money here, and it may not work out' so Jason told him to keep our information just in case.
We've already talked to Randy and he told us he cannot get caught up. if the options are get caught up or move.... he's moving. and the fact that we've had our money on time for the past few months, but have to wait to pay days before the next month.... because he doesn't have his smaller portion. NO MORE ROOMATES. that's what i think. he's the first and last...... at least i hope.
so now we look. with a 60 lb dog. and a 50 lb other dog... its not gonna be easy.
